Seminars – Short Sale & New GFE/HUD from BARLAY LAW GROUP LLC

We are already seeing how the new (April 5th) rules to the Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives (HAFA) program have affected short sales by causing the approval process to be a little more predictable and quicker. Also, to qualify for the homebuyers’ credit, there has been a push by consumers to get under contract prior to the recently passed deadline of April 30th. All this means is that business, at least in the short term, should be picking up.We continue to assist agents with their short sale transactions by providing preliminary title work, preliminary HUD Statements, and Agent and Seller/Buyer seminars. One of the most important things you will learn in the seminars is the extent to which the seller can pay buyer’s closing costs. It depends on not only what type of loan (FHA/Conv.) the seller has, but also what type of loan the buyer is bringing. This month and next we will continue to host our seminars on Short Sale transactions. In addition, we’ve added a new short sale seminar for sellers and buyers to better educate and prepare them for the short sale experience. Furthermore, we will have a repeat seminar on the new GFE and HUD (in case you missed the last seminars). I hope you are taking advantage of these educational offereings as we continue to strive to make a difference in the real estate community. We look foward to continuing to work with you this year!Sincerely,

Thua G. Barlay

Estates for PlatesIn the response the ever-increasing need of our local food banks due to the downturn in the economy, Barlay Law Group has initiated the “Estates for Plates” program to help address this need. With this program, the firm will act as a repository for the collection of canned goods for Rockdale Emergency Relief and other local food banks. To assist us in our efforts, we will offer our conference facilities to non-profits, civic and other groups, free of charge, in exchange for having each member bring in a canned good. We will also be requesting that for any seminar, closing, consultation or other event at our offices, all parties should bring a canned good. We hope that with this effort we can provide a positive impact and be a active participant in our community.
